It is one of a family of gels called Retinoids, and is effective in preventing pimples and healing existing pimples. It can also be used to reduce the signs of aging like facial lines and sun spots, as well as alone or with other topical treatments to treat alopecia and other kinds of hair loss. Apart from treating acne, it can also be used for acne scar removal. By promoting regeneration of new skin cells, and removal of the dead skin cells, it can diminish the appearance of acne scars or marks. How to use:Apply gel or cream to the affected area once a day, preferably in the evening or just before bedtime; Wash your hands before applying this medication. Gently clean the affected skin with a mild or soapless cleanser and pat dry. Use your fingertips to apply a small amount of medication (about the size of a pea) in a thin layer, usually once daily at bedtime or as directed by your doctor. A gauze pad or cotton swab can be used to apply the liquid.
